Curriculum Vitae
After his studies of physics at Stuttgart Göttingen, Thomas Heimburg received his Dr. rer. nat. degree 1989 at the MPI for biophysical chemistry at Göttingen. A scientific stay at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (USA) followed. Thomas Heimburg got his habilition in biophysics at the Universität Göttingen in 1995. From 1997 to 2003 he was leading an independent young research group at the MPI for biophysical chemistry.
Since 2003, Thomas Heimburg is Professor for Biophysics at the Niels Bohr Institute of the Department of Physics at the University Kopenhagen.
There, he is leading the Membrane Biophysics Group.
